Hearthstone adventurers are one step closer to saving Medhiv as The Menagerie went live the week of Aug. 26.
The Menagerie features three bosses all of whom award you with new cards for your collection when you defeat them.
The first boss you face is The Curator. The Curator is a bit nasty and is the only boss I had to face more than once.
The Curator has a passive taunt ability as its hero power. You must play aggressively or you will be overrun. The Curator summons a lot of mechs, murlocks and dragons so do not waste any time on him.
I started out trying to defeat The Curator with my Beast Druid deck. This was a failed attempt so I decided to switch to ZooLock. Check out the video below.
You’re in The Menagerie so why not fight some critters! Or, in this case, a dragon. Nightbane’s hero ability is that everyone starts with 10 mana. I again took ZooLock as I seem to be doing well with it.
Staying aggressive and getting a Sea Giant to stick was key to my victory here. I feel fortunate that I was able to get my taunt minions in play early and use them as blocking fodder as I wrapped up the dragon with Sea Giant and a pumped up Darkshire Councilman.
I suspect another way you can defeat the dragon is by making a deck with nothing but legendary creatures. You start at full mana, so you might as well use it up.
The final boss in the Menagerie is Terrestial Illhoof. This guy was a bit of a pain. Illhoof is immune and can only be by Icky Imps – creatures he controls! The trick is killing the Icky Imps as, when they die, they do 2 damage to Illhoof and are re-summoned.
I feel like a broken record here but, play aggressive! I again took ZooLock and flooded the board with creatures. By doing this I was able to kill one or two Icky Imps every turn and eventually take the win.
If you play this with a Warrior deck you want to use things like Whirlwind and Death’s Bite. The AoE damage those cards do will be awesome. Basically, anything that can do AoE will be awesome in this fight. So make sure to pack your deck with them.
And there you have it. That’s the Menagerie. Once you complete The Menagerie you will be awarded the Menagerie Magician and The Curator along with the other cards you got from the previous bosses.
All-in-all The Menagerie was a lot of fun. Were you able to take it down? What deck did you use? Let us know in the comments below.
